On September 27, 2021, a private screening of the documentary film "The Secret of the Vilyuy Reservoir", shot by Anastasia Borisova, Angelika Motosova, Vera Afanasyeva, and Anastasia Alekseeva, took place in the Historical Park “Russia - My History.”

The film tells about the difficult fates of the inhabitants of Tuoi-Haia village, which was flooded by the Vilyuy reservoir: the hardships and sufferings of 500 residents who were forcibly evicted from their homes in various ways and promised to provide new housing. Despite the promises of both Soviet and republican authorities, so far residents and their children have not received any compensation. However, the most difficult test for many was the loss of their small homeland.

“First of all, thank you to everyone who came to the premiere! On behalf of the team, we are grateful to everyone who helped us in creating the film. The film was based on interviews with eyewitnesses of those events, we shot about 50 inhabitants of Tuoi-Haia village. Not everyone was included in the film. We plan to post all the interviews on our YouTube channel "Oyduo", and also transfer them to the film archive. The topic is complex and deep, we would like someone to study it further. I hope the problem of Tuoi-Haia inhabitants will be solved, let there be lawyers who could help with advice. The film was created with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation and Sinet Spark. We would like to thank Arsen Tomsky for his financial assistance, as well as our patient mentor Anastasia Ammosova!” shared one of the film directors Anastasia Borisova.

The documentary film "The Secret of the Vilyuy Reservoir" was invited to participate as a closing film in the First International Environmental Film Festival “Life Form”, which will be held from November 24 to November 28, 2021.
