At first, the pandemic of a new coronavirus infection became an obstacle to the event, because of which last year the organizers decided to postpone the half marathon to 2021. However, in August of this year, smog from forest fires covered Yakutsk, so the event was postponed again.
The grand opening of the competition took place on the morning of September 12. The start of the half marathon at a distance of 21.1 km, 10.5 km and five kilometers was given at eight o'clock in the morning.
Athletes who have completed a full course of vaccination or have a negative test result for coronavirus infection were allowed to participate in the half marathon.
A total of 936 people registered to participate in running at various distances, 550 of them went to the start. In addition, one hundred young athletes took part separately in the children's race online (using fitness trackers).
"All the participants reached the finish line safely, everyone got a lot of emotions. It was solemn, friendly and unforgettable! In addition, a special anthem was written specially for the anniversary half marathon, which was played before the start," the organizers of the half marathon say.
As a result, the absolute champions in the 21.1 km half marathon were: Aisen Vasiliev among men with a time of 01:12:00.31 and Polina Slobodchikova among women with a result of 01:25:55.63.
Sergey Isakov (00:42:46.43) and Evdokia Vasilyeva (00:43:49.51) won the 10.5 km race. In five kilometer race - Konstantin Olenov (00:20:27.94) and Marina Terentyeva (00:21:29.56).
All participants of the half marathon received medals, T-shirts and a finisher's jersey, and the winners in each category received cups and commemorative watches from sponsors.
Those who for some reason could not take part in the event on September 12, should not worry, especially for them, the organizers will hold an online race from September 13 to September 30. You need to go out for a run and record your results on any fitness tracker. After the finish, you need to send your results by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. In the subject of the letter, you must specify the full name and date of birth. After that, you can come with documents to the Fitness Life fitness club (42 Lermontov Street).
