Yakutsk got into the list of top cities of Russia with the most polluted air according to IQAir

Anti-dust program
Air pollution in Yakutsk exceeded the recommended air parameters 36 times.

According to the IQAir website, Yakutsk has been consistently among the leaders of the rating of Russian cities in terms of atmospheric pollution for the current week.

IQAir is an international platform for measuring air pollution in real time. To participate in the project, you need to install an air monitoring sensor and register it on the website.

As it was reported on the IQAir website, on July 9, air pollution in Yakutsk 36 times exceeded the recommended parameters of the World Health Organization (WHO).

It should be noted that at the same time, according to Rospotrebnadzor standards, the single MPC (maximum permissible concentration) of suspended particles PM2.5 should not exceed 0.16 mg/m3. And at 16:00 on July 9, the single MPC of suspended particles PM2.5, according to IQAir, was 0.36 mg/m3.

This means that according to Rospotrebnadzor standards at this time, air pollution in Yakutsk exceeded the MPC by more than two times.

At the same time, the Department of Rospotrebnadzor of Yakutia reports that on July 9, in a number of settlements of the republic, including Yakutsk, an excess of the maximum permissible concentration of chemicals in the atmospheric air was detected.

It should be noted that the data for Yakutsk appeared on the IQAir platform as part of the Sinet Spark project on the implementation of an air quality monitoring system.

For this purpose, 10 IQAir Air visual Pro air quality sensors were purchased, which can register the concentration of suspended particles PM2.5 and transmit data from them to the Internet in real time.
